Meet our newest member of the family



This is "Eisenstaedt Schoon," a 16-week-old male Scottish terrier, named after Alfred Eisenstaedt -- the famed photographer who took the photo of the soldier kissing his girl during WWII in Times Square. We call him Eisie, just like the shooter's friend Margaret Bourke-White referred to her pal. Interestingly, our 4.5-year-old Westie is named Maggie, after THAT photographer.

At any rate, he's a charmer and acts much older and wiser than his puppy age would lead you to believe. Mags still isn't sure about sharing her momma or her bones or her toys. We'll work on it...

Note that his name is eIsie, tho...not eLsie. He might have gender confusion otherwise. :-)

We've been joking that we should spell it like we say it:
I.Z.

He's like a rapper dog in da hood or something...

He's gorgeous!! Can we come and visit the new babe after he gets settled? I think you should spell it Eyezee. :) Love the photographer name!!!

Jenni, we would love for you to come visit! And I'm not sure he needs much settling in. He's very laid back, go-with-the-flow kinda dog. Henry thinks our spelling is weird, too. :-) He says he will spell it I.Z.

In memoriam...

I remember the first time I heard the name "Les Anderson." A bunch of Wichita State University communication majors were sitting around on campus, talking about classes they planned to take. Several people warned me: watch out for Les Anderson. He was tough. He had a murderous grading scale. It was nearly impossible to get an A. They weren't kidding. But he wasn't tough just to be a tyrant.
